Confirm whether physiotherapy is covered, whether a referral is required, your per-visit limit and any annual maximum that applies to your plan.
Patient resources
Everything you need to prepare for your first visit, understand insurance and billing, and feel clear about what happens next.
Your first appointment
Your first visit is about understanding what is limiting you, what you want to get back to, and which findings are most relevant to your movement and function.
Your physiotherapist will ask about your current concern, health history and goals, then complete an assessment appropriate to your presentation. You will have an opportunity to ask questions and discuss the recommended next steps before moving forward.
You do not need to choose a treatment technique yourself. Tell us what is bothering you and we can help you identify the appropriate starting point.

Helpful to have with you
Direct access
In many situations, patients can contact a physiotherapy clinic without first obtaining a physician referral. Your individual extended-health plan or third-party payer may still have its own documentation requirements for reimbursement.
If coverage is important to your decision, confirm your plan requirements before the visit or contact our team and we can explain what information to check.
Insurance & billing
Extended-health coverage varies by insurer and by individual plan. A few minutes of checking in advance can prevent surprises later.
Confirm whether physiotherapy is covered, whether a referral is required, your per-visit limit and any annual maximum that applies to your plan.
Direct billing is available for eligible plans when the insurer and your policy support it. You remain responsible for any portion not paid by your insurer.
Direct billing enabledIf your visit relates to a workplace, motor-vehicle or other third-party claim, contact us before booking so we can confirm what documentation and services are currently available.
Forms & documents
Not every patient needs the same paperwork. Your appointment confirmation or clinic team can let you know if anything specific is required for your visit.
Contact the ClinicBe ready to share contact information, your main concern, relevant health history and consent information as part of the intake process.
If a payer has provided forms, claim numbers or special instructions, have those available so the clinic can review what applies.
Specialist notes, operative reports or imaging summaries can be helpful when they relate to the problem, but do not delay contacting us simply because you do not have them.

You are always welcome to share MiltonPhysioRehab with a friend, family member or colleague. They can contact the clinic directly to ask questions and decide whether an assessment is appropriate for them.
Frequently asked questions
If your question is not covered here, contact the clinic. We would rather help you clarify the details than have you arrive uncertain.
Read our privacy policy →Many patients can contact a physiotherapy clinic directly. Your insurance plan or another payer may still require a referral for reimbursement, so check your individual policy if coverage matters.
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move and, when practical, gives your physiotherapist access to the area being assessed.
Coverage depends on your specific benefits plan. Confirm the amount available, visit limits, referral requirements and any direct-billing rules with your insurer.
Not necessarily. If you already have relevant reports or imaging summaries, bring them. If additional medical assessment is appropriate, your physiotherapist can discuss that with you based on the presentation.
Appointment length can vary by service and clinic scheduling. Confirm the expected length when your appointment is booked so you can plan enough time.
That is completely fine. Start with your symptoms, limitations and goals rather than a treatment name. Our team can help you choose the appropriate starting point.
